Castro makes his “Marc” on WBC American Continental title

Marc Castro won his first major championship, namely the World Boxing Council Continental Super Featherweight Championship, by defeating Abraham Montoya Jr by decision in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Marc, who was champion of the WBC Green Belt Challenge in the amateur field, achieved an important victory that will surely catapult him to more complicated fights until he reaches the expected challenge for the WBC Green and Gold Belt.

It was a fight with alternating dominance, but Castro showed better quality and it was reflected in the judges’ scorecards.

The final cards gave 100-90, 98-92 and 97-93 in favor of Marc.
