Australian Skye Nicolson won the vacant featherweight title of the World Boxing Council, by defeating Danish Sarah Mahfoud by unanimous decision, this Saturday at the Fontainebleau, Las Vegas.
Nicolson fought a disciplined, smart and conservative fight. Mahfoud was dominated from start to finish thanks to Nicolson’s powerful and accurate jab, preventing her from retaliating, by connecting clearly. The cards were the total reflection of the combat.
The Judges’ scores were 100-90, 100-90 and 99-91 for Nicolson.
With this victory, Nicolson becomes WBC World Champion, improving her record to 10-0, 1 knockout, while Mahfoud is now 14-2, 3 knockouts.
