On March 30 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Serhii Bohachuk (23-1, 23 KOs) and Sebastian Fundora (20-1-1, 13 KOs) will fight for the vacant World Boxing Council super welterweight title and what a thrilling slugfest it promises to be!
Bohachuk is the number two ranked in the WBC, while Fundora is number 3.
The 6 foot and 6 inches “Towering Inferno” Fundora will have a six-inch height advantage and a 10-inch reach advantage in the fight.
Bohachuk, fought an impressive campaign in 2023 defeating able contenders. Patrick Allotey in one round and Nathaniel Gallimore in six rounds.
Bohachuk`s five-fight winning streak since suffering the first loss of his career to Brandon Adams in 2021, helped him focus and prepare for this high quality, heavy handed fight with Fundora. Bohachuk spent most of 2022 in Ukraine with his family, while his home country fought a war with Russia, which is still ongoing.
Fundora, 26 who is two years younger, has not fought since he suffered the first loss of his career last April. Fundora was surprisingly knocked out by Brian Mendoza in the seventh round of a fight he was winning handily. Prior to that shock defeat, Fundora had defeated quality rivals Jorge Cota, Sergio García, Erickson Lubin and Carlos Ocampo. Will this go the distance? We`re soon going to see for ourselves!
