Alexandro ‘Peque’ Santiago will defend his World Boxing Council bantamweight title against Junto Nakatani on February 24 in Tokyo, Japan.
The champion from Tijuana will make his first defense of the world title that he won against the legendary Nonito Donaire last July. ‘Peque’ (28-3-5, 14 KO’s) arrives with a streak of four consecutive victories after his last defeat in November 2021.
Nakatani (25-0-0, 19 Ko’s) will fght him at 118 pounds after having been champion in two different divisions (flyweight and super flyweight).
Santiago is undergoing a gruelling training camp and is confident traveling to his rival Nakatani’s home turf.
