Considered by many as the most influential filmmakers of the 20th century, he stood out both for his technical precision and for the notable stylization plus deep symbolic imprint.
Some of his most notable films were Lolita (1962), Spartacus (1960), 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), A Clockwork Orange (1971) and The Shining (1980).
