WBC Cares in partnership with My Sisters Keeper and Solve the Silence held an inspiring event at Gleasons Gym, thanks to the graciousness of Bruce Silverglade  and the WBC.

One hundred and fifty adolescents and teenage girls were treated to motivational straight talk by Alicia “the Empress” Napoleon-Espinosa, Sonya “the Scholar” Lamonakis, Ronica “the Queen” Jeffrey, Malissa “the Author” Smith and Sarah “ the Leader” Cunningham. The program was planned and moderated by Stacey McCoy and assisted by Jill Diamond.

Never has there been a time when events like this, uplifting and fun, were more needed. Each boxer answered questions about themselves and the sport and then a boxing demonstration involving the young women took place inside the ring. It was a blast.

We want to thank School Superintendent, Janice Ross and Councilwoman, Farah Louis for their participation and inspiration .

Once again, girls ruled at Gleasons!
