Luna and Thorslund ready for supremacy test

The Mexican Yuliahn “Cobrita” Luna will hold a bantamweight title unification fight against the undefeated champion, Dina Thorslund, in a fight for the WBC belts held by the Mexican and WBO by the Danish.

The fight will take place this Friday, September 1 at the Graakjaer Arena in Holstebro, Denmark.

Yuliahn will defend the World Boxing Council bantamweight title for the third time, against the WBO monarch in an expected champion vs. champion matchup.
The Mexican, who has been a bantamweight and super bantamweight champion, has had important victories abroad, so she does not feel disadvantaged by appearing on Dina’s home turf.

Thorslund was also a monarch in two divisions, super bantamweight and bantamweight; so the duel between the two champions is one of the most anticipated among boxing fans.
This Thursday both warriors showed that they are in excellent condition, passing the official weigh-in without problems. Luna clocked in at 116.4 pounds, while Thorslund stopped the scale at 116.8 pounds.
