Canelo Álvarez, The Pride of Jalisco

September 30, the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada,  will be the scene, setting and epicenter of a unique boxing contest when Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez will defend his super middleweight world titles,  against the undisputed super welterweight world champion, Jermell Charlo.

An historic date for boxing,  as it will be the first supreme confrontation between undisputed champions. Two greats seeking the zenith.

Canelo states this fight is dedicated to Mexico, and especially to Jalisco, as we remember that just last May 6, he returned to fight in his home state after 12 years.  Promise fulfilled!

It was at the imposing and huge Akron Stadium in Zapopan, Jalisco, where he was embraced by the enveloping  warmth of the people and the rapturous rousing reception,  as they roared him on.

That night thousands from all over the world arrived and he himself was finally back home, so everyone enjoyed a top-level boxing card to the fullest.

For Canelo, the adoration and all of the inspiration he received that night when he faced John Ryder, has proved a memorable highlight his career.

Since it was returning to his roots. The place where he was born and his story began. He was cheered on by those who have always loyally supported him. His people all the way, for their favorite son.

Thanks to this important card, the world was able to discover the plentitude that Jalisco has to offer, which in addition to its hospitality and the warmth of its people, has a gaudy gastronomy, diverse culture and vivid traditions.
